How to See Yourself the Way God Sees You

It’s easy to get caught up in how the world views us—through the lens of flaws, failures, and fleeting moments of doubt. But what if there was a way to shift that perspective? To see yourself not as others might label you, nor as your inner critic may suggest, but as God sees you? This week, let’s explore how to embrace that transformative way of seeing yourself, rooted in grace, love, and truth.

Seeing yourself through God’s eyes is not just about feeling better; it’s about grounding your identity in something eternal and unshakeable. Here’s how you can begin this journey.

1. Remember You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” This means your worth isn’t defined by achievements or appearance but by the very fact that you are crafted by a loving Creator. Take time to reflect on this truth daily.

When self-doubt creeps in, remind yourself that you are intentionally designed and deeply valued. Every experience, relationship, and trial you have endured and survived has helped to shape you into a very special unique individual.

2. Embrace Your Identity as a Beloved Child

As a believer in Jesus Christ, God calls you His child. You have been adopted into the family of God. This is a powerful identity marker. In 1 John 3:1, it says, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.” When you see yourself as God’s beloved child, you can rest in knowing that you have the rights, privileges, and protections that belong to being a son or daughter of God.

You are no longer defined by your mistakes or the world’s standards, but you are hidden in Christ and a recipient of His unconditional love. Speak to yourself like a parent would to their cherished child—with kindness, patience, and acceptance.

3. Let Go of Perfection and Accept Grace

One of the most freeing aspects of seeing yourself as God sees you is understanding the concept of grace. You’re not perfect—and you don’t have to be. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Salvation and worth come through grace, not works. We can do nothing to earn the love of God. His love for us has been given freely to all who are willing to accept it. When you accept this, you can release the pressure to be flawless and instead live in the freedom of God’s love.

4. Practice Daily Affirmations Rooted in Scripture

Words are powerful. Fill your mind and heart with affirmations based on God’s promises. Examples include:

“I am loved beyond measure.”

“I am chosen and called for a purpose.”

“I am a new creation in Christ.”

These reminders help rewire how you perceive yourself, replacing negative self-talk with uplifting, truth-based affirmations.

5. Reflect on God’s Faithfulness in Your Life

Take moments to look back and recognize how God has been present through your challenges and victories. This reflection builds trust in His ongoing love and care, which in turn affirms your value and purpose in His eyes.

Ultimately, seeing yourself the way God sees you is a daily practice—a choice to align your vision with divine truth rather than worldly opinions or self-criticism. It’s a journey of faith, grace, and self-compassion.

So, next time you catch yourself doubting your worth or feeling less than, pause and ask, “How does God see me right now?” Let that perspective reshape your heart and mind.

Thanks for joining me in this reflection and remember you are deeply loved, exactly as you are.

What the Bible Says About Who You Really Are: Your Identity in Christ

Our identity is our sense of self. It is shaped by many factors such as our upbringing, experiences, relationships and culture. According to the Bible, your identity is not determined by your past, your circumstances, your failures, or the opinions of other people. If you have placed your faith in Christ, Scripture teaches that you are loved, forgiven, chosen, created with purpose, and made new through Him.   If you are struggling with defining who you are as a believer, there’s an unshakable foundation you can build on—your identity in Christ. This week let’s explore how two powerful Bible verses, 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Jeremiah 1:5, illuminate this journey of self-discovery and spiritual transformation.  What Does the Bible Say About Who You Are?  The Bible tells us that our identity is ultimately found in God, not in the labels the world places on us or the painful experiences we have endured. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we become a new creation....

From Puppy Love to Deep Faith: Growing a Stronger Relationship With Jesus

Have you ever been in love? Most people probably would have answered “yes” without hesitation a decade ago. Yet in today's world, genuine connection can sometimes feel harder to find. Relationships require time, vulnerability, commitment, and a willingness to move beyond the surface. The first stage of many relationships is what we often call “puppy love.” We usually associate puppy love with tweens and teenagers, but infatuation can happen at any age. It is that exciting stage when everything feels new. You are captivated by the person, excited about the possibilities, and perhaps even imagining a future together before you truly know them. But what happens when we experience that same kind of excitement in our relationship with Jesus? Can we fall in love with the idea of Jesus without developing a deep relationship with Him? That question made me reflect on my own relationship with Christ and how my faith has grown over the years. I realized that there is a difference between b...

7 Biblical Ways to Keep Going When Life Is Difficult

Life can throw some pretty tough challenges our way, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or ready to give up. Unemployment in certain areas is rising. The number of people unhoused continues to increase and it seems like inflation is impacting every socioeconomic group. But the Bible offers timeless wisdom and encouragement to help us keep moving forward, even when the road gets rocky. If you’re searching for strength, hope, and practical ways to persevere during difficult times, these seven biblical principles can guide and uplift you. Let’s explore these powerful ways to keep going when life feels heavy.  1. Trust in God’s Promises One of the most comforting truths in the Bible is that God is faithful and His promises never fail. When life is uncertain, holding onto verses like Isaiah 41:10 (“Do not fear, for I am with you...”) reminds us we are never alone. Trusting in His Word means believing God will provide strength and peace even when we can’t see the outcome. Matthew ...
