Faithfully Seeking God | The Lighthouse After the Storm

  Standing in line to renew my vehicle tag I heard a man and his daughter walk into the room behind me. I didn’t turn around to look at them, but I could tell from the sound of her voice that she was a little girl, maybe 4 or 5 years of age.  She said, “daddy I love you” and he quickly responded, "I love you too baby”. It was a very sweet moment. I had already been standing there for about ten minutes when I heard them walk into the room. No more than 3 minutes later I heard the little girl say, “daddy why is this taking forever?”  The father chuckled a little and said, “girl stop, we just got here.” I laughed quietly to myself as I heard his reply. Then my thoughts turned to my own heavenly Father. I bet that’s how God feels about me.  I too keep asking, Daddy, why is this taking forever? I’ve been waiting on Your promises for what seems like a long while, longer than I had planned and some days the weight of the wait it’s overwhelming. When the world feels like it'...
